Hmm, I hadn't thought about the accident part...something to consider. I'll have to see if there are any articles out there about it.

Moving the player from car to car *is* a good benefit for the portable players.

Yes, we do also use the PS3 for Bluray movies (which are absolutely beautiful!). Madagascar 2 looks phenomenal.

I know what you mean about gaming time. The last game I spent a lot of time on was Fallout 3. Other than that, it's 5 minutes here and there to help the kids with something.

I have a DVD player where the screens are velcro'd to the headrests. It was only about $250 and it's great because I can move it between cars, or the kids can take the screens off and put them in their lap. The screens are pretty big and each kid gets their own. It's probably like that 3rd one you have listed.

I'd be afraid to put it inside the headrest, since I like my head and you never know when an accident will happen.

When I was younger, it was all about Nintendo or Sega. But now we just have all the systems and play them all. They're each good for different things.

We have the XBOX and PS2 in my 8 year old's room, they get played whenever the adults have the big TV. The 360 is great for games like Need for Speed. Good quality, but not so good that you get lost in it. Our PS3 has been used mostly for Blueray and Guitar Hero. The Wii, of course, has its own niche and we love moving with our games. My SNES is put up, because the other consoles have made it nearly obsolete (except for our Game Genie). Then, of course, the DS and PSP are our go-to consoles for travel. They get lost a lot.

I don't really see any of the "console love" in my house. Especially not like it was in the early 90's when people would start fights to prove theirs was better.

I used to be a huge gamer, but there's so much going on now I can't keep up with it all.

Great post!! I always enjoy reading other parents' reviews...I think we just get a better sense of how quality something really is when talking to another parent.

That's so cool that headrests now come with screens built in! We have a dropdown DVD screen in our Toyota Sienna and the kids are always fighting over what they want to watch so most of the time we don't even use the darn thing!

I came over from Nancy's blog!!
