Vampire Obsession 5

Posted on February 11, 2010 by Nancy

Ok, I wrote about my Vampire obsession.  It’s not Twilight.  It’s Alexander Skarsgard as Eric (my first ever true Hollywood crush).  I’m Team Eric (I posted that my dear hubby even bought me a Team Eric t-shirt for Christmas!  My favorite gift.)!  Eric Northman is the character played by Alexander Skarsgard from Sweden in the True Blood series on HBO.  It’s based off of the book series of Sookie Stackhouse by Charlaine Harris. It’s actually become a true vampire obsession. I’ve read a lot of books lately on the same types of characters, I’ll have to post a book reading list update soon. I need to step away from the genre! I’ve never been so stuck on one thing. But I’m going to wait until the next book comes out in May before I totally step away from my vamps.

Here are the books:

I also just enjoyed this book of short stories that fills in some gaps:

The DVDs:

and a clip from YouTube that might make you understand my obsession!  LOL

For my Mommy Board friends (SMM)…. thank you for finding that last video (I know it was just for me, right?) to feed my obsession and thanks for the HVA!

He Did It! What a Christmas 6

Posted on January 05, 2010 by Nancy

My husband figured out a way to put Alice from the Brady Bunch under my Christmas tree!alice

I’ve been writing for 2 years that I wanted Alice from the Brady Bunch under my tree.  This year, I wrote that I had doubts that my husband could fit her under my tree so I was giving up on that dream….  BUT, he DID it!  Along with this photo of Alice there will be a lady (name as yet unknown, I hope her name is Alice!) who will come to my house and help me clean it every other week! WHOOOO HOOOO!

Yep, that’s me!  I’m spoiled rotten and I love it!

This Christmas season was very good to me.  Actually it was my hubby, family and friends that were oh so good to me!

The next present that had me all aflutter was an unexpected t-shirt.  Let me first assure you that I’ve NEVER been excited over a t-shirt before, LOL! Next, I do admit that I love Twilight, but I was never really an Edward or Jacob fan.  At least not to the point of declaring myself “Team Edward”, or “Team Jacob”.  I’m just too old to lust over the teen idols. But I’ve become a huge fan of Alexander Skarsgard from Sweden due to his role as Eric on True Blood .  Let’s just say that he’s my first Hollywood crush (he’s in his thirties, so I don’t feel like a dirty old woman).  My crush for Alexander extends to my crush for Eric Northman (Alexander’s Character) from my new favorite book series.  Don’t know who he is?  You’re missing out!  normal_663394_tb_107_pg_0597a_alexanderskarsgard

The book series had me enthralled.  The first time I attempted to read them, I just couldn’t get into the first book. The second time around, I devoured the books in a fury that amazed even me (and I know how much I love to read!). I think I read all 8 books in less than a week. I watched the first two seasons of True Blood
before I picked up the 8 books in the series.  I have big hopes and dreams that the director of the HBO series follows the remaining books…. especially Book 4 and 7!  If this post makes you feel the need to pick up the Sookie Stackhouse books let me warn you that Books 4 and 7 are STEAMY!!! :)

Alexander Skarsgard is my Hollywood Crush and I can now proudly declare myself Team Eric thanks to my great hubby!  When I opened the package and read the shirt, I squealed with glee and immediately put it on over my pajamas. I then didn’t even bother to wash it before wearing it again the next day. Had you been a witness, you probably would have thought I was 3 years old and had just received my first Easy Bake Oven. The poor guy had also hidden a new Nine Inch Nails bumper sticker (for my mini-van) in the same package.. in my excitement of the shirt, I crumbled up the paper, threw it and didn’t even notice! We’ve been trying to smooth out the wrinkles in my sticker ever since.

That’s just the tip of the iceberg for my Christmas.  It was filled with friends and family, joyous, excited children and the Magic of Christmas (linked this to one of my favorite posts).  I hope you had a great Holiday too.  Happy Holidays and Happy New Year to you and yours.  May all of your dreams and wishes come true!
