About One Stop Boy Shop
A new way to shop for the little guys.
After spending many frustrating hours trying to shop for her three boys and ending up in tears because stores were not carrying items that appealed to her boys, Nancy Long decided to do something about it.
She launched One Stop Boy Shop in November 2008 to give parents of boys a place to find clothes, accessories and décor for boys. Based out of Round Rock, Texas, One Stop Boy Shop was a plan of Long’s for many years. Her experiences as a Mom brought the idea to fruition.
“There are racks and racks of pink and princess-y things for girls in department and specialty stores but the same stores carry very few boy items. My boys are into planes, trucks, tough animals and cute monkeys, not ladybugs and sequins. I’m betting there are a lot of moms just like me that are looking for cute, quality items that are made for boys.”
One Stop Boy Shop offers adorable yet ‘manly’ items made just for boys, including clothing, squeaky shoes, soft-sole shoes, raincoats, and bedroom decorations. New lines and products are added to the shop on a regular basis. Long purchases a lot of her inventory from other mom-owned businesses as she said she believes in moms helping moms.
Long even carries her own line of merchandise, “TROUBLE” for Boys, named after her youngest son’s nickname.
“He’s a head-diving, Evil-Knievel, risk-taking toddler,” she said, “The scar on his upper eyelid is the proof, three stitches and no lesson learned. Products that I brand TROUBLE are things that I’m very proud of and hope other moms will enjoy as much as we do.’
The One Stop Boy Shop isn’t Long’s only endeavor. She also designs web pages and is a popular blogger.
“I love getting back to writing — and reading—which is something that I’d lost even before children. My career in I.T. stole more from me than I ever realized. It was all consuming and although I thought I loved it, I love this life so much more. I feel like I’m now myself,” she said.
