I felt it was the right thing to do by announcing some disclosures. The blog buttons on my site are not paid ads. I do them because I actually really like them. Same with my blog roll.
I do run Google Ads or Project Wonderful Ads on occasion. I never seem to stick with one or the other. Right now it’s on Google. So there may be paid ads on my site at any given time.
On occasion, there will be some item recommendations that I write about. Please know that I do have some affiliate contracts with and I sometimes will earn a small commission if you purchase something from going to their site from mine. That said, I will not, have not and would never consider recommending something that I don’t really endorse, use myself or honestly recommend.
Reviews. Sometimes I do product reviews. Occasionally they are cold approaches in that they’ve approached me and asked me to review their product. I will not, have not and will never consider exaggerating, or embellishing my review. I provide honest reviews only. I’m not in this for “free stuff”, I’m more than happy to review something that I already own, or can borrow in order to make my opinion. Even things in my own One Stop Boy Shop, I will not write about them if I don’t 100% like them, actually I won’t have them on my site if I don’t 100% like them!
But yes, I feel better letting you know that some things that I post with links to places to purchase the item are in fact affiliate links (example I’m a Vans Shoes affiliate because I love their shoes!). BUT, if you can find items cheaper elsewhere, please do not feel like you have to use my link just to get me a commission. My goal of this blog isn’t to make money, it’s to be able to write things that I hope someone wants to read and to help advertise my two businesses, One Stop Boy Shop and Pages By Nancy (which actually has its own blog at http://www.pagesbynancy.com/blog for my nerdy outlet).
